Interview with The New Limb.

This week's interview is with The New Limb. I interviewed the whole band, and it got pretty crazy! Good luck keeping up! By the way, The New Limb play an incredibly original style of music. Give them a listen if you get a chance, and please enjoy the interview.

Brax: Can you tell me about the name of your band? As an alien from another planet, I'm interested in limb regeneration. Do you know something I don't?
Joey: We got it from an old Native American Indian proverb that talked about a brave Indian squaw, who, while walking through the forest, had to defend her baby from, a rival, um, a patchy shaman, um, yeah... and so she tricked him into a cave where she then toppled stones to cover up the entrance, but as the stones were toppling down the shaman cursed her to grow a new arm every time she touched her child. So every time she hugged her kid she had to cut it off. SO that's why we call it "The New Limb".
Brax: What project are you currently working on?
Adam: Recording a Full-length album, a live DVD, a music video, and getting on a virgin galactic flight to space.
Brax: What makes your band special?
Adam: We're all mildly lactose intolerant.
Lauren: I'm not!
Dan: A little bit....
Lauren: OK.
Joey: Special? Hmm. Moral fabric.
Lauren: We all live together, I think that's special. And Adam and Joey are brothers, and Dan has known them since 1999. I have no special connection.
Joey: She's the heart and soul of this band.
Brax: What’s your favorite restaurant to eat at as a band and why?
Lauren: The first time we ate together was Pick Up Stix.
Dan: Can we say our kitchen?
Joey: BBQ's!
Dan: When we went to Summerland and had that BBQ.
Joey: How about in Florence in the Piazza de Republica?
Adam: Cinque Terra, THE LITTLE SEA PLACE!
Dan: The pubs in Galway.
Everyone: THE AMERICAN BAR! The Araan Island!
Dan: Eating off the trunk of my grandma's car in Miami!
Adam: Oyster shooters in New Orleans!
Joey: Anywhere on the planet earth, we LOVE. As long as we're together. We love food. We love eating on travels, and we love to travel.
Brax: What are your favorite bands to play with? Why?
Everyone: YELLOW RED SPARKS!
Dan: Cause they're cuddly.
Joey: Cuddly-nice.
Lauren: Yeah they're great. Our bands are in a dating relationship with each other.
Brax: Cryogenic freezing or Hyperbaric sleeping chambers? Discuss.
Lauren: I like sleeping.
Dan: And high amounts of oxygen make you feel nice.
Adam: I'm OK with freezing, cause you don't age.
Joey: I choose Hyperbalic sleeping chamber because...
Dan: I prefer cremation.
Lauren: By the way Adam, I washed your sheets today. I just wanted to let you know so you don't wash them like, tomorrow.
Adam: ...right on.
Brax: Where do you see your band in 5 years?
Dan: Cremation.
Joey: I just thought of this today: if we get famous, I'm gonna pass out and fall on stage, have everyone stop the show and paramedics carry me off stage, have someone tell the crowd that I'm not OK, and then I just come swinging in from the back singing "Ahh!!!!!!" No, but really I'm either gonna be in the ocean or in the space.
Adam: Dude, I'm gonna probably be, like, down the street.
Lauren: I don't know...
Joey: Lauren's either gonna be married to some rich (dude) and pregnant with his kids in Newport Coast, or be living inside a piano in an abandoned warehouse with a man named Johnny who sells rocks he stole from construction sites.
Lauren: Wait this is supposed to be where your BAND is in 5 years...
Dan, Adam, & Joey: Perfect.
Brax: iPod, CD, Vinyl, or other? Why?
Lauren: ALL of them!
Joey: They all have their own qualities they bring to the table.
Lauren: I love listening to vinyls. I listen better.
Adam: DVD's are better than all of them.
Joey: I'm gonna write my favorite is... whispers.
Brax: Tell me about your worst live show ever. Then tell me about your best live show ever.
Adam: Worst show was at Gallagher's, when the sound guy showed up right as we started play...totally cracked out on drugs with a shirt that said "I love boobs" ... and unplugged all our mic's, and changed all the EQ, and changed the monitor mix.
Joey: He changed everything as we started our first song.
Adam: Mom said (our show) at eVocal was our best.
Joey: We haven't had our best show yet.
Brax: What is your opinion on robots?
Adam: Dig.
Joey: I'm excited for their future.
Dan: I'm scared... and... I don't know... I think all robots should be run off of short power cords so that if they try to run after you, as soon as they get unplugged they turn off.
Lauren: I love Wall-e.
Brax: Any advice for others trying to “make it” in music?
Adam: Practice.
Joey: Sell out.
Dan: Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Lauren: Dress like a rock star, pray that you are good-looking, and make candy music.
Brax: Anything else you’d like to add?
Adam: Lauren, do you want to say something?
Joey: Did you know that a full grown man can swim through the arteries of a Blue Whale?
Lauren: I have nothing more to say.
Dan: Umm.... um, no.

The interview is very interesting. There is a dialog not just commercial questions and answers.
