Interview with Cheetahsaurus.

This week I interviewed Wyatt Hull from the band Cheetahsaurus. Mr. Hull has been the front man for several bands over the years, including The Sheep and The Colour. Fans of his previous work will have an idea of what to expect from Cheetahsaurus, but this new incarnation has gone on beyond these previous projects. Cheetahsaurus is a perfect blend of the quirky songwriting structures from The Sheep, the indie hipster rock and roll swagger of The Colour, and a dark, beautiful, almost gothic, new vibe. Their first EP, Get Poor or Die Trying, has already garnered some buzz. That buzz, along with some well received LA shows and another album on the way, means Cheetahsaurus is one of those bands you should be keeping a close eye on. Enjoy the interview, and don't forget to visit Cheetahsaurus at the links below.

Brax: What exactly is a Cheetahsaurus? Is it related to the Liger?
Cheetahsaurus: We're still not sure exactly what a Cheetahsaurus is. It just sounded (awesome).
Brax: What music project are you currently working on?
Cheetahsaurus: We're on the final mixing stage of our new LP record that we're self-producing called "This Will All Make Sense When You're Dead." We're hoping to have it released by this fall.
Brax: What's the story behind your song 2013?
Cheetahsaurus: Well everyone knows that Nostradamus predicted the world would end in 2012, but what our song presupposes is maybe it doesn't.
Brax: What planet, other than Earth, would you most like to visit, and why?
Cheetahsaurus: Well, there are many. Melmac, so I could protect house cats from being eaten. Endor, for obvious reasons. Asteroid B-612, or maybe the Sun so I can just get it over with.
Brax: Where do you see your band in five years?
Cheetahsaurus: Somewhere in France, wearing funny hats.
Brax: iPod, CD, Vinyl, or other? Why?
Cheetahsaurus: Vinyl. Bigger is better. Off the subject, I miss the Super Size option.
Brax: You've played many shows in several bands over the years. Tell us about your best live show ever.
Cheetahsaurus: Every show with Cheetahsaurus.
Brax: Who shot first, Greedo or Han Solo?
Cheetahsaurus: George Lucas.
Brax: Any advice for others trying to “make it” in music?
Cheetahsaurus: Never be afraid to be yourself, unless you're terrible at music. Then, once again, bigger is better.
