Interview with Stacy * Clark- part 2.

Last week I posted part one of my interview with singer/songwriter Stacy*Clark. This week we have the conclusion for your reading enjoyment. Stacy has won several awards for her songwriting and has shared the stage with some impressive acts. She wrote, produced, licensed, and distributed her own album. Plus, she's a girl guitar player and she has an extraneous punctuation mark in her name. These factors add up to make Stacy pretty cool in my book. Brax: If you could time travel and perform your music in any era of history, when would you choose?

Stacy*Clark: I imagine each time period has its own challenges and advantages. If I traveled back in the past I could use my knowledge of what was going to happen in the future to earn more money. I do like where I am now because I feel it is where I am supposed to be. However, maybe for one day I would travel back to the 70's San Fransisco and hang out with Fleetwood Mac at the Fillmore.

Brax: iPod, CD, Vinyl, or other?

Stacy*Clark: iPod. Why? I love vinyl, however I don't have a record player in California, only at my New York home. My iPhone is my best friend and has everything from my schedule to music on it. Ah, technology. Thank you, Apple.

Brax: Tell me about your craziest fan.

Stacy*Clark: Ha! Well, I have been stalked and had to get a restraining order before. However that was from an old co-worker turned fan. Not sure, that was a a scary time of my life because it wasn't just some random person. It was a person I worked with who had gotten fired, his wife left him, he was on drugs and then stalking me. Super creepy, not cool. My song recluse is about that and the recluse fiddle backed spider.

Brax: How do you feel about interstellar travel?

Stacy*Clark: I think it's awesome and hope that before I die I can afford a trip off this planet. At night when I look up at the sky, I think about what we are looking at may not exist and how stars can burn out. How our sun is a star and although its billion of years until it explodes, how do we know? There has to be a million other galaxies, and there is no doubt in my mind other life out there. Its overwhelming, and then I remember it doesn't have to be. There are just things that cannot be explained and hopefully with time truth and science will be discovered.

Brax: Any advice for others trying to “make it” in music?

Stacy*Clark: Per career advice, do music only if you truly love it. There is a lot of ups and downs. The highs are highs and the lows are lows. I have been working towards this on and off for 14 years. There has been a lot of hard work, tears, time sacrificed, and a lot of time spent alone. It's not all fun and games. There is a lot of rejection, a lot! But that is OK. Each time someone told me something negative, I turned it into a positive. In life, you have to surround yourself with positive people, who are real and who you can trust. Believing in yourself can turn your dream into your reality, but also get ready to work for it.

Brax: Anything else you’d like to add?

Stacy*Clark: Life is short. Live, laugh, love. If you have your health, you have everything.
